Ultra Flow Wound (UFW)
Key Features
- High-flow depth filtration for long service life
- Ideal for high-viscosity fluid applications
- Reduces downtime, changeouts, and total filtration cost
Overview
The UFW Series is a high-capacity string wound filter element built for demanding liquid filtration. It's string wound construction delivers exceptional dirt holding and long runtimes, making it a cost-effective solution for high-viscosity applications
How It Works
Fluid enters the core and flows inside-to-outside through string wound media that traps particles; clean filtrate exits the outer metal cage.
Applications
- •General plant/process water and well/desal intake sand & silt removal
- •Chemical/batch prefiltration and coatings/inks guard service
- •Cooling, boiler makeup, and utility line protection
- •Data centers TCS CDU filtration, FWS cooling tower, chilled water filtration
FAQs
- •
What flow rate can the UFW Series handle?
The UFW Series (Ultraflow Stringwound) can achieve flow rates of 300–500 GPM depending on fluid type (based on 60" length), with up to 500 GPM at 60" and 150 PSI.

How does the UFW Series compare to pleated filters?
When competing head-to-head with pleated filters in process water applications, the UFW outperforms them by multiples of 5 or more, with savings in direct filter consumption, downtime, maintenance, and labor costs.
