Project Overview
A chemical processing facility required filtration for aggressive brine service at 750 GPM per vessel. Fil-Trek engineered and supplied large, vertical L-Series multi-cartridge filter housings configured specifically for high-pH brine.
The filter vessels are constructed from carbon steel with an autoclave-cured soft natural rubber lining (Polycorp 1055) to protect wetted surfaces from brine chemistry. A split-body design was selected to improve lining quality and long-term reliability by providing full access for blast prep and lining application.
Titanium Grade 2 separator plates and baffle separate the dirty and clean chambers and support the cartridge array while remaining exposed to brine on both sides. Fil-Trek fabricated and welded these titanium components in-house and machined them on our large-format Mill-Turn VTL.
Each housing was supplied with a high-capacity cartridge package using our 40-inch Alaris Series pleated filter cartridges to provide substantial filtration area, low pressure drop, and long service intervals.
The project began with an initial order of six vessels and continued through phased expansion batches over several years (typically 6–14 housings per shipment), supporting a long-term plant buildout with a standardized, repeatable design.
