Sour Service Applications
| ||||||
![]() |
Sour service filtration is the flirtation of particulate within a liquid that contains hydrogen sulphide which is considered a lethal service application. Hydrogen sulphide is a colourless, highly flammable and extremely poisonous gas that is found in natural gas and other gasses. Typically, hydrogen sulphide is the result of the bacterial breakdown of organic matter when there is an absence of oxygen. Natural gas is considered "sour" when more than 5.7 milligrams of hydrogen sulphide is present per cubic meter of natural gas (equivalent to 4ppm by volume). When natural gas contains less than 5.7 milligrams of hydrogen sulphide, the application is considered to be "sweet". |
